American Atheists praises understudy activism by recompensing grants to understudies who exhibit nonbeliever activism in their groups and schools. 

The application period for the 2016-2017 grants is currently open. Due date for accommodation is February 1, 2016. Victors will be told before April 1, 2016. 

To be considered, please present the Scholarship Application Form, a duplicate of your latest school report card or transcript demonstrating a GOP of no less than 2.5, documentation supporting your activism amid the previous year, and a 500-1,000 word article enumerating your activism through email to scholarship@atheists.org. Fragmented applications won't be considered.

WHAT ARE THE STUDENT ACTIVIST SCHOLARSHIPS? 

The American Atheists honors the $1,000 O'Hair Scholarship and four $500 President's Scholarships to skeptic understudies going to school or college. The grants are given each year at the American Atheists National Convention. The Student Activist Scholarship system was established by Life Members Barbara J. Baldock, Dr. Phillip Butler, Lillian B. Ramsden, Rice O'Dell and Irving Yablon. 

American Atheists is pleased to additionally honor two $500 Chinn Scholarships for LGBT Atheist Activism. These grants perceive activism in the territory of LGBT equity. You don't need to be an individual from the LGBT group to get this grant; associates are urged to apply. 

WHO CAN ENTER? 

The grants can be utilized by current undergrads or by secondary school understudies entering school the up and coming year.
